1. You are human. You are worthy of respect. You deserve to be treated with the same dignity as anyone else. There is nothing inherently wrong with your gender. You are not broken, you are not disgusting, you do not deserve to be hurt.
I know, I already posted this on Facebook, but it was too amazing to not share twice. It’s called “Trans 101,” but it’s not a basic class for cis people, it’s a bill of rights for trans people. I want to give this to every trans person I know!
How did you start writing, Miss? I've always wanted to know...
Well… I kind of always wrote, ever since I could. My mother was a librarian and I grew up surrounded by books. When I was four I wanted to be Harriet The Spy, that was probably when I picked up prose — at the very least that was when I decided I wanted to be a writer. (It is really weird to me that I’ve stuck with that for 25 years! I am seriously not that consistent on anything else.)
