Bleeding Cool is reporting there may be a change in writer for Catwoman. Writer Ann Nocenti, currently on Green Arrow, is the name being bounced around to take over for Judd Winick.

Nocenti has written Catwoman before in Trail of the Gun, a two issue mini from 2004. 

Hmm, Nocenti also wrote Batman in that. Isn’t DC adding a new writer for Detective? Unless Winick is moving to Detective? I’ve actually heard a few names bounced around for the Detective gig - both current DC writers and writers who have been doing some creator owned stuff - and Wincik hasn’t come up. But who knows.

But if one or even two of the other names I’ve heard come to fruition I think it will be surprise some folks. And none of them is a woman.

EEE! that would be the best thing ever (so long as whomever the cover artist is doesn’t turn Catwoman into a cross between a blow-up doll and a potato again). Ann Nocenti’s magnificent feminist Daredevil run back in the 80’s warped my impressionable young mind, and can clearly be blamed for me running off and becoming a big ol’ radical transfeminist as an adult.

And while I’ve been thrilled to see her doing comics again (after a long stint as a reporter for Mother Jones), Green Arrow really hasn’t been a good fit for her. (No shade; part of it is that the art’s a bit sub-par, but also Green Arrow is a thoroughly uninteresting and ill-defined character who isn’t really a good fit for anyone. He’s kind of like that thing at the back of your drawer that you know doesn’t work, but you’ve had it so long you can’t bear to just toss it.)

So anyway EEE I hope this is true!!
